Grecophone has been offering residential Greek language immersion courses since 2007 to students of many different nationalities. Our courses cater for all levels of Greek learner, from absolute beginners to those of advanced level who wish to continue improving their Greek. We use a wide range of teaching methods, from traditional textbook use to more practical tasks to be completed outside the classroom.

As well as Greek language tuition, Grecophone offers a high standard of modern accommodation. Our guest rooms share a balcony overlooking the Aegean Sea and the island of Thasos.

Our residential guests can expect the very best of traditional Greek cuisine, catering for all specific dietary needs.

The combination of three hours of language tuition per day, comfortable accommodation and traditional home cooked Greek meals creates a relaxed environment in which our students feel at ease and ready to take on the challenge of learning the Greek language.

I would like to thank the Howell family for the period which I spent in Kavala and also to address future students of the Greek language. I am Brazilian and had the pleasure of studying Greek with two English ladies who also received Greek lessons whilst I was in Kavala. The lessons were very good, with a calm, relaxed atmosphere / approach.
Kavala is a town with many opportunities for excursions and a lovely evening atmosphere near to the harbour.
The teachers are competent, with a deep knowledge of their subject. They also have outstanding didactic methods and are very patient.
The excursions were nice. During the weeks of my Greek course, George and Vasiliki took us on a number of excursions near to Kavala. On the two weekends when I was free, I decided to explore further afield, visiting Mount Athos and Thassos.
I found my time in Kavala to be well filled; many doubts I had relating to Greek grammar were resolved and excursions were enjoyable.
I must mention the outstanding cuisine of the Howell family, with a balanced diet of high quality. It was a good opportunity to try the flavours of Greek cuisine.
The rooms were very nice, quite comfortable. The house is near to the sea which allows for swimming and walking on the beach.
I would also like to say that my fellow students, Ruth and Elaine, were very nice and polite.
